Enige tijd geleden deden wij een oproep voor versterking van het NLNOG bestuur, en we zijn blij dat we inmiddels een eerste nieuw NLNOG bestuurslid aan jullie voor kunnen stellen: Bram Wittendorp.
Omdat misschien nog niet iedereen hem kent volgt hier een introductie die Bram geschreven heeft:
"Ik ben Bram Wittendorp, 30 jaar oud. Overdag werk ik als Expert Network Engineer bij SURF, en omdat één netwerk blijkbaar niet genoeg is, heb ik ook mijn eigen netwerk (AS213052) waar ik van alles mee uitspook. Ik lees al sinds 2018 mee in het IRC-kanaal en ben bij de nodige events geweest — omdat ik het belangrijk vind om iets terug te doen voor onze community heb ik besloten om mijn steentje bij te dragen in het bestuur van NLNOG. Ik kijk ernaar uit jullie te zien op een event of op IRC, waar ik te vinden ben als bramw."
We zijn erg blij dat Bram ons bestuur vanaf nu versterkt! Op Lekker Weer NLNOG op 5 juni kunnen zal Bram uiteraard ook aanwezig zijn, dus mocht je hem nog nooit ontmoet hebben dan is dat je kans. Er is nog steeds plek voor meer gasten, dus kom vooral voor een interessante middag vol presentaties gevolgd door lekker eten, drinken en gezelligheid. Some time ago we invited new people to join the NLNOG board, and we are happy to announce our first new NLNOG board member: Bram Wittendorp.
Because there still may be some people who don’t know Bram yet, here’s a short introduction he wrote:
"I am Bram Wittendorp, 30 years old. In my day job I work as Export Network Engineer at SURF, and because one network apparently isn’t enough I also have my own network (AS213052) to play around with. I’ve been a passive member of the IRC channel since 2018 and have visited many events. Because I find it important to give back to our community I decided to contribute my part by joining the NLNOG board. I look forward to seeing you at an event or on IRC, where you can find me as bramw."
We are very happy that Bram is now part of our board. At Lekker Weer NLNOG on June 5th Bram will of course be present, so if you haven’t met him yet, this is your chance. We still have room for more guests, so please join us for an afternoon filled with interesting talks followed by good food, drinks and a lot of fun! De lente begint weer een beetje in de lucht te komen, dus het is weer tijd voor de aankondigingen van het jaarlijkse NLNOG-zomerevent!
Deze zomer zullen we zoals gebruikelijk weer het 'Lekker Weer NLNOG!' event organiseren, dit jaar op vrijdag 5 juni 2026, in de BIT MeetMe in Ede.
Net als vorig jaar draait het 'Lekker Weer NLNOG!'-event om enkele presentaties, gevolgd door een borrel en barbecue, als het weer meezit op het terras bij BIT. Voor de mensen die met openbaar vervoer komen zal er een bus geregeld worden, en dit jaar komt er ook weer een rideshare-pagina om makkelijk een lift te kunnen regelen.
Het thema voor de presentaties van dit jaar draait om het slim oplossen van operationele problemen. We mikken op interessante talks die inzicht geven in probleemoplossing in de praktijk; ingewikkelde problemen, inventieve oplossingen en interessante verhalen over hoe je überhaupt dat exotische probleem hebt weten te vinden. Hoe sappiger, hoe beter, en we hopen dat de sprekers ook niet bang zijn om iets te vertellen over dingen die soms misgaan in productie :).
Om het programma te vullen, zijn we op zoek naar sprekers die over bovenstaand thema een leuk verhaal willen presenteren. Dit zullen korte presentaties zijn van ongeveer 30 minuten. Deze worden in persoon gegeven en niet opgenomen of gestreamd. We zijn op zoek naar leuke voorstellen, die je kan mailen naar stichting(a)nlnog.net . Bij eventuele vragen kun je altijd met datzelfde adres contact opnemen, of even een bestuurslid aanspreken op IRC. We willen het programma voor het event voor 1 mei afronden, dus stuur je voorstel zo snel mogelijk in.

It's starting to feel like spring, so it's time to announce the yearly NLNOG summer-event!
This summer we will, as usual, organize the 'Lekker Weer NLNOG!' event - this year on Friday the 5th of June 2026, at the BIT MeetMe in Ede.
Just like last year, the 'Lekker Weer NLNOG!' event will have a few presentations, followed by drinks and a barbeque, when weather allows on the terrace at the BIT MeetMe. For people who are traveling by public transportation, we will arrange a shuttle bus, and we'll arange a rideshare-page again to easily get a ride to the venue.
This year's presentation theme is about smart solutions to operational problems. We're aiming to get interesting talks that give you insight on how to solve problems in real life; complicated problems, smart solutions, and interesting stories about how you managed to find that exotic problem. The juicier the better, and we hope the presenters are not afraid to show and tell about things that sometimes go wrong in production :).
To get content for the programme we are looking for speakers who can and want to present a nice story about this theme. We're looking for short presentations of around 30 minutes. These will be done in person, and will not be recorded or steramed. We're looking for cool proposals which you can email to stichting(a)nlnog.net - this address you can also use to contact us with any questions (or you are welcome to contact any board member on IRC). We'd like to finalize the programme before the 1st of May, so be quick with sending in your proposal.

In response to feedback from operational security communities,
CAIDA's source address validation measurement project
(https://spoofer.caida.org) is automatically generating monthly
reports of ASes originating prefixes in BGP for systems from which
we received packets with a spoofed source address.
We are publishing these reports to network and security operations
lists in order to ensure this information reaches operational
contacts in these ASes.
