Mogguh, Alvast vanaf deze plaats een goed 2009 (en nu stop ik er echt mee :). Voor wie zoveel hersencellen stuk heeft gezopen de afgelopen dagen en het vergeten is: De NLNOG nieuwjaarsborrel vindt plaats op vrijdag 16 januari 2009 in Amsterdam Het bijna jaarlijkse evenement wat je niet mag missen ook dit jaar weer op de vertrouwde locatie "Amsterdamse Stoombierbrouwerij "De Bekeerde Suster" (v/h brouwerij Maximiliaan). Foundry networks heeft zich opgeworpen als sponsor en Niels houdt een nu al legendarische speech, dus er is eigenlijk geen reden om niet te komen. We willen alle geinteresseerden graag uitnodigen voor dit gratis seminar, dat in Ede gehouden zal worden. Als het voor jezelf niet nodig is om dit te bezoeken omdat je het allemaal al geregeld hebt zou het cool zijn als je het bericht zou kunnen doorgeven aan mensen die er nog wel wat informatie kunnen opdoen. Dus, spread the word, en misschien tot dan! http://www.ipv6spaceodyssey.nl/ Ede, 18 december 2008 - Onder de naam "2001:: An IPv6 space odyssey" wordt op 23 januari 2009 in Ede een praktijkseminar gegeven om het gebruik van IPv6 aan te moedigen. Door praktische tips te bieden, wordt duidelijk dat IPv6 niet eng is en dat de implementatie weinig tijd en geld kost. Dit protocol maakt een bijna oneindig aantal internetadressen mogelijk. BIT organiseert dit gratis seminar voor hosting- en accessproviders en andere ge?nteresseerden om te laten zien hoe je in de praktijk werkt met IPv6. Sprekers van onder andere RIPE NCC, Microsoft en Shock Media delen daarom hun ervaringen en geven praktische tips. BIT wil de overgang naar IPv6 bevorderen aangezien op dit moment nog te weinig bedrijven IPv6 gebruiken en verwacht wordt dat in 2010 een eind komt aan het aantal beschikbare IP-adressen. nieuwjaarsborrel ?

En met meer belangrijk nieuws, ondergetekende en nog een handje bekenden leek het wel een aardig idee weer eens een nieuwjaarsborrel te doen. Voorlopige datum 9 januari 2009, voorlopige locatie ergens in Amsterdam (Bekeerde Suster ?). Suggesties voor verbeteringen zijn welkom, er ligt al een sponsorverzoek in de week bij een aantal organisaties, maar mocht je marketingbudget over hebben is een extra sponsor natuurlijk welkom. Mogelijke aanstaande delisting Online van de NLWhitelist

Beste Concullegae, Vorige week heb ik gemailed over het beschikbaar zijn van statistieken uit Virbl over whitelisted hosts. De reden hiervan was toen 'een enkele partij die ik niet nader zal noemen'. Inmiddels zijn we bijna een week verder en heb ik via omwegen en geheime mailinglists contact gehad met iemand bij de betreffende partij. Ik had een deadline gezet van afgelopen woensdag 12.00u, en op dinsdag had ik iemand aan de lijn die het op zou gaan pakken. Helaas heb ik vanmorgen moeten concluderen dat er na dinsdag 21 oktober half vijf niemand meer ingelogd is geweest op de Virbl webinterface en dat het aantal meldingen met ruim 15000 omhoog is gegaan. We staan op het punt om te concluderen dat Online geen werkend abuse-beleid heeft en dat ze derhalve niet op de NLWhitelist thuis horen. Als Online niet binnen afzienbare tijd reageerd en actie onderneemt om de verspreiding van virussen door hun mailservers tegen te gaan zullen ze op maandag om 12.00 u van de NLWhitelist verwijderd worden. Het gaat om de volgende IP's: 193.252.22.249 smtp-4.orange.nl. 193.252.22.242 smtp-2.orange.nl. 193.252.22.241 smtp-1.orange.nl. 193.252.22.243 smtp-3.orange.nl. Als je dus vertrouwt op de NLWhitelist om alle rbl's te omzeilen bij het aannemen van je mail en je wilt de mail van Online / Orange / Wanadoo / Euronet blijven ontvangen zul je deze IP's vanaf maandag hoogstwaarschijnlijk met de hand moeten whitelisten. We vinden het vervelend om dit te moeten doen, maar om de geloofwaardigheid van de NLWhitelist niet in het geding te brengen is het wel een stap waarvan we vinden dat we hem moeten nemen.
